Before you begin
- Gaze only at the moon, never at the sun.
- Blink freely and close the eyes when they tire.
- If you are outdoors, choose a safe, comfortable place.
- Avoid steady gazing with epilepsy, glaucoma or recent eye surgery; practise with the eyes closed instead.
Not a substitute for medical advice.
A gentle meditation with the moon, ideally on or near Purnima. You gaze softly at the moon, or at its image if it is hidden, then close the eyes and hold its cool light within. A few rounds of left-nostril breathing deepen the quiet.
What it supports
- Supports a cool, receptive state of mind
- Helps you feel connected to the lunar rhythm
- Brings a quiet, devotional mood
