Meditation
Breath Awareness
Observing the natural breath · 10 min
Before you begin
- Sit in any comfortable position; a chair is fine.
- If attention to the breath feels uncomfortable, rest attention on the hands or the sounds around you.
Not a substitute for medical advice.
A foundational meditation. You rest attention on the natural breath without changing it, noticing the coolness at the nostrils and the gentle rise and fall of the belly. When the mind wanders, you return kindly. Halfway through, a simple count helps steady the attention.
What it supports
- Supports steadier attention
- Builds the habit of returning to the present
- Brings a sense of quiet and ease
