About this program
An anushthana is a committed period of daily mantra practice. For forty-three days you chant Om Namah Shivaya, the five-syllable Panchakshari mantra, for one mala of 108 each day, followed by a few minutes of silent meditation.
Om Namah Shivaya is widely chanted openly by devotees. If you have received it, or a different form of it, from a guru, follow your guru's guidance.
Keep the same time and place each day if you can, and sit with a simple sankalpa.
If you miss a day, tradition asks that an anushthana begin again from day one, and this program follows that custom. The app offers to restart gently; your past days still count in your overall practice history.
