Families welcome a Ganesha murti home for one and a half, five, seven or ten days, offering durva grass, red flowers and modak, and singing aartis morning and evening. The festival ends with visarjan, a fond farewell.
Ganesha is honoured first in every undertaking. The festival is a joyful time to begin something new, and an eco-friendly clay murti keeps the celebration kind to the earth.
